That's all folks.

I've been using this blog to narrate my own experiences as a parent of a child on the autism spectrum. That has included my own thoughts about how society thinks about autism as well as a lot of discussion of my son's achievements and challenges. Now that MK is older, his story is less and less mine to tell. The other day he headed off to the movies with a friend from school -- just the two of them. Today, he shaved for the first time. MK is doing great. He has a shining future ahead of him. His story is his own to create and to narrate.

I will continue to read the blogs I have been reading and, if I get a real hankering to talk about my own story, I will start a new blog.

In the meantime, I will leave you with one of my favorite songs from my favorite autistic musician.

Wow, *shaved*??? Holy cow! Yes, I can understand how you would decide that the story isn't really yours to tell anymore.

Still, between your departure and Marla's this week...well, the blogging world will be a bit dimmer for me. I hope you'll stop by to check up on me and Nik from time to time, too.

Wishing you all the very best as you watch your amazing young man grow and thrive.

Don't lose your own story while you consider the others going on around you.

Take care and come back soon!

We'll miss your posts. Really. We've started to think of you and your family as a sort of friends far away.
All the very best to you and MK.

Let us know how it's going -- every now and then.

I missed this during my own temporary hiatus from blogging. Best of luck to you and MK.

I suspect we're getting pretty near that point too.

It must be great to be in a place where you revolve around autism. Good luck with your journey. :)

I didn't say "revolve around autism". I said (or meant) "doesn't revolve around autism". For God's sake, my life revolves around autism. lol.

I used a smiley face, told you good luck in your journey, and I honestly mean that. :)

It makes no sense that you're stopping your blog, that you're finding autism to be manageable, and yet I would say that it must be nice to be in a place where your life revolves around your son. I could have sworn I said "doesn't revolve"...can't imagine why it would have posted any other way. :)

Thanks for the post. I still feel so bad for the misunderstanding. Sometimes I cut and paste quickly if something doesn't sound right, and I likely cut the wrong word. I am so sorry. :) I was just out meandering through blogs and found yours. When you were signing out, I was so proud for you, autism is all I live and breathe. Someday, I think it will get more manageable, but not yet. :) But my son is such a little guy, he has a long way to go. Keep in touch. :)
